Though headquartered in Beaverton, Nike also has an office here in NYC. And to pay homage to the city that welcomed them, the brand often creates packs in homage. Here, the Air Force 1 Mid leads the latest celebration, its two colorwayss distinct in what they choose to draw inspiration from.
The first, which starts atop a rather simple white base, adds a touch of baseball influence, its lining fully dressed in a navy pinstripe fabric. Underfoot, a bright gum is used throughout the outsole, which is embedded with a green-backed “4” and “5” whose addition is obviously a nod to the same-numbered trains. Accompanying the pair is a more simple grey option, one that lacks its counterpart’s patterned and colored features. And while the two may deviate in their looks, together they share “NYC” branding and jewel Swooshes.
For a closer look, check out the retailer imagery below. Both are due to land in the EU on October 20th. In the US, the grey pair will release October 28th, with the white still TBD.
In other news, a University Red Dunk High GS is on the way.
